The Science
What is GHK-Cu?

GHK-Cu (Glycyl-L-Histidyl-L-Lysine Copper) is a naturally occurring copper-binding tripeptide found in human plasma, saliva, and urine. First isolated in 1973 by Dr. Loren Pickart, it has since become one of the most extensively studied peptides in regenerative dermatology — with 50+ peer-reviewed publications documenting its effects.

GHK-Cu signals the body to repair itself: activating collagen and elastin synthesis, reducing inflammation, accelerating wound closure, and upregulating antioxidant enzyme expression. It is not a synthetic compound designed to mimic these effects — it is the molecule the body already uses for skin repair.

Why does the concentration matter?

Most copper peptide products contain a trace amount — often far below what peer-reviewed studies use. Concentration is everything. At too low a dose, the peptide cannot meaningfully signal the repair cascade.

BLU° delivers GHK-Cu at 0.1% — the clinically meaningful concentration used in published research on barrier repair and collagen synthesis. Not a proprietary blend that obscures the actual number. The real dose, stated plainly.

What does GHK-Cu actually do to the skin?

The research documents six primary functions:

  • Repairs — stimulates collagen and elastin synthesis in dermal fibroblasts
  • Firms — tightens loose extracellular matrix architecture at the dermal level
  • Restores — activates the skin's wound-healing gene expression cascade
  • Soothes — reduces inflammatory markers including TNF-α and IL-1β
  • Brightens — inhibits excess melanin biosynthesis
  • Protects — upregulates superoxide dismutase and catalase antioxidant enzymes

A full list of cited research is available on the Science page.

Are your claims clinically proven?

The claims BLU° makes are built on published, peer-reviewed research on GHK-Cu as a compound — not proprietary in-house studies. We cite the science we stand on. Every claim links to an independently conducted study.

We don't make efficacy claims about BLU° as a product in terms that would constitute medical claims. We describe what the active ingredient does, at the dose we use, as documented in the scientific literature.

The Mask
How does the mask work?

The Lyocell sheet creates an occlusive seal against the skin, trapping moisture and softening the stratum corneum — the outermost barrier layer. Over 15–20 minutes, this occlusion allows the copper tripeptide to be carried through the barrier via passive diffusion, reaching the living epidermis where it signals structural repair from within.

Lyocell was chosen specifically because it holds more fluid in sustained contact with skin than cotton or synthetic alternatives — maximising the window of active peptide delivery.

How long do I wear it?

15–20 minutes. This is the minimum time required for GHK-Cu to meaningfully penetrate the stratum corneum. The ritual section on the homepage describes the three-phase kinetics in detail.

Do not leave the mask on until it dries — once the sheet loses moisture, occlusion breaks down and the remaining serum can draw moisture back out of the skin.

How often should I use it?

2–3 times per week for the first 30 days, then once or twice per week as maintenance. Consistent use over 8–12 weeks produces the most measurable improvement in skin density, firmness, and barrier integrity — consistent with the timelines documented in peer-reviewed literature on GHK-Cu.

What other ingredients are in the serum?

Every ingredient in the BLU° serum serves a function. The formula includes:

  • GHK-Cu 0.1% — the primary active
  • Ceramide NP — barrier repair and lipid restoration
  • Centella Asiatica — anti-inflammatory and wound healing support
  • Hyaluronic Acid — multi-weight hydration
  • Panthenol — soothing and barrier support

No fragrance. No parabens. No silicones. No fillers elevated as actives.

Is it suitable for sensitive skin?

Yes. GHK-Cu is inherently anti-inflammatory — reducing TNF-α and IL-1β, two primary markers of skin irritation. The formula is free from fragrance, parabens, and silicones. The Lyocell substrate is significantly softer than cotton, minimising mechanical irritation against compromised skin.

If you have a known allergy to any listed ingredient, consult your dermatologist before use.

The Product
What is the difference between the 4-mask and 8-mask packs?

Same mask. Same formula. Same 0.1% GHK-Cu concentration. Same 25ml serum per mask. The 8-mask pack delivers 28% savings per mask and is recommended for anyone committing to a full 30-day protocol.

Where is the GHK-Cu sourced?

Our GHK-Cu is manufactured under pharmaceutical-grade conditions, with 108 registered patents and 8,000kg annual production capacity. Every batch is tested to 99%+ purity via a 16-point Certificate of Analysis, and fully traceable from synthesis to mask. We verify every batch. Not on request — as standard.

When will I see results?

Most users notice improved hydration and smoother texture within 2–3 uses. Measurable changes in skin firmness and collagen density typically require 8–12 weeks of consistent use — consistent with the timelines documented in peer-reviewed research on GHK-Cu.

Results depend on baseline skin condition, frequency of use, and overall skincare routine. GHK-Cu is not a one-application fix. It is a signal molecule — it works by being consistently present.

What if I don't see results?

If you complete your first box and don't notice any improvement in skin texture, hydration, or firmness, contact us within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. No forms, no runaround.

We're confident enough in the science to back it with a guarantee. GHK-Cu's mechanism is documented across 50+ peer-reviewed studies. If the dose is right and the delivery is consistent, results follow — typically within 6–8 weeks of regular use. We only ask that you use the mask as directed before requesting a refund.
